I Mille
“I MILLE” is the Educational Concert of a Musical Rap show about the Unification of Italy.
the show blends musical storytelling with an educational approach to recount the revolutionary events immediately preceding national unity, the first years of the newborn Kingdom of Italy and its protagonists
Through a series through a series of intense, engaging and completely original tracks, the show condenses the revolutionary years that came before and after National Unification.
Designed for a young audience, the project adopts a musical language that brings together rap, theatre
musical theatre and hybrid sounds, to convey the energy, contrasts and ideals of a decisive period.
It’s not just a history lesson set to music, but a chance to reflect on identity, politics and memory through vivid characters, forgotten stories and themes that are still relevant today.

The first act follows the journey of the Thousand from their departure from Quarto to the capture of Palermo, in 1860. Among the Garibaldian ranks
figures emerge such as Francesco Crispi and his wife Rosalie Montmasson, the expedition’s only woman. In the background, the intricate political web unfolds between the cautious Cavour, the ambiguous King Victor Emmanuel, and the Machiavellian Giuseppe La Farina, in a dramatic crescendo that culminates in the first act’s finale. The second act opens in the Parliament of 1861 and takes the audience through to the end of the century. Amid scandals, crackdowns, shifting capitals and fading ideals, Italy faces the complex challenge of becoming a nation. At the heart of the story are Crispi’s gradual turn to political opportunism and the quiet erasure of the revolutionary figure of Rosalie Montmasson, a symbol of history’s forgotten voices.
